Step 1:
Join a powerful community of teachers, interventionists, and literacy coaches who are committed to building sustainable systems and transforming their structured literacy instruction. You’ll immediately receive your welcome guide, videos and workbook.
Step 2:
Decide how you will work through each session. Each pre-recorded session is approximately one hour with action items to help prepare you for the school year without feeling overwhelmed.
Step 3:
Need help implementing the work? You get one, 1:1 complimentary coaching session with Amie. This 30-minute call will help you to plan your rollout, troubleshoot challenges, and lead with confidence.
Step 4:
By the end of the cohort, you’ll have a fully planned and organized literacy block, aligned Tier 1 and Tier 2 systems, and a “First 10 Days” launch plan to start the year strong—without scrambling.

Phase 1: Plan with Purpose
Week 1: Literacy Block Foundations
PD: Learn how to structure a literacy block that reflects how the brain learns to read and supports all essential components.
The Work: Draft your personalized daily schedule using the editable planner and sample block guides.
Focus: Clarify your instructional priorities and create a block that actually works.
Week 2: Predictability and Routines
PD: Explore how routines, visuals, and consistency improve classroom flow, student engagement, and instructional efficiency.
The Work:: Build or revise your daily routine slide deck and visual schedule to support your students and save your energy.
Focus: Make your block predictable—for you and your students.
Week 3: Managing Materials
PD: Streamline your phonics and literacy materials so they align with your instruction and reduce day-to-day overwhelm.
The Work: Conduct a resource audit and set up your bins, folders, and small group systems.
Focus: Clear the clutter and organize what really matters.
Week 4: Small Group Systems
PD: Break down what effective small group instruction looks like and how to deliver it with confidence and structure.
The Work: Build your first week of small group plans using a three-part lesson framework.
Focus: Plan with purpose and bring consistency to your small group time.
Week 5: From Sounds to Words
PD: Connect phonemic awareness to decoding through blending, sound drills, and mapping—so your students move beyond sound-by-sound reading.
The Work: Choose or create sound-to-print routines that reinforce your phonics instruction.
Focus: Strengthen the bridge between oral and written language.
Phase 2: Teach with Intention
Week 6: Systematic Phonics in Action
PD: Learn how to deliver phonics lessons that align to your scope and sequence, reinforce previously taught skills, and support mastery.
The Work: Review or refine your phonics sequence and plan one week of aligned phonics instruction.
Focus: Keep your phonics lessons focused, consistent, and skill-driven.
Week 7: High-Frequency Words
PD: Discover how to introduce, map, and review high-frequency words using orthographic mapping and meaningful repetition.
The Work:: Choose 5–10 words to map and build your classroom review routine.
Focus: Move beyond flashcards and teach high-frequency words in ways that stick.
Week 8: Encoding and Dictation
PD: Explore how encoding, spelling, and dictation can strengthen your students’ reading and writing—when done with purpose.
The Work: Create or revise your weekly dictation plan and spelling routines.
Focus: Connect reading and writing to reinforce foundational skills.
Week 9: Vocabulary and Background Knowledge
PD: Learn how to embed vocabulary and knowledge-building into your literacy block without sacrificing skill instruction.
The Work: Select a read-aloud and plan how to layer vocabulary and content instruction into your week.
Focus: Support comprehension by strengthening word and world knowledge.
Week 10: Launch Your Literacy Block
PD: Put everything together and finalize your plan to confidently launch your structured literacy block in the fall.
The Work: Complete your “First 10 Days” plan, finalize your schedule, and prep your materials.
Focus: Walk into the new school year ready—and excited—to teach.
