Hi there, I'm Amie
A K-5 Literacy Coach who's passionate about creating fun, engaging, and manageable Science of Reading aligned resources for your classroom.
I started my teaching career in first grade and realized pretty quickly that the current balanced literacy curriculum was not reaching all of my students.
So, I went back to school to get my masters to become a reading specialist and became Orton Gillingham and LETRS trained so I could help more students become strong, confident readers.
In 2019, I started Literacy Edventures to bring Science of Reading aligned lessons, activities, and support to teachers beyond the ones inside my district after I saw growth in our students’ scores and abilities as readers.
Over the years I’ve continued to test strategies, learn, collect data, and follow the science. I love sharing all of my tried-and-true activities, strategies, and resources that follow the Science of Reading through my Route2Reading membership, Phonics Curriculum, Shop, Blog, and Podcast.
34% of our nation’s 8th graders are reading on grade-level despite the fact that 95% of our children are capable. It’s past time to change that.
