When it comes to phonics instruction, the research is very clear. Students need multiple opportunities to review skills. This means, we are never "one and done" (as Wiley Blevins likes to say). How to Use This Resource:

Build Fluency with Blending Lines!
Students need repeated, meaningful practice to move from sounding out each word to reading with confidence and ease. These blending lines are designed to do just that—help students build fluency by focusing on consistent vowel patterns with increasing complexity.
Each set includes three levels per vowel, giving students the opportunity to build automaticity over time. The vowel has been excluded from the blending lines to promote vowel flexibility and decoding
HOW TO USE
You may choose to laminate each page for future use or simply print one sheet out per student.
Read through the blending lines once choral reading. Show students how to track from left to right sounding out the words as they go.
Then, ask students to practice reading several times independently or with a partner. Students can color one star for each time they read the sheet all the way through.

Phoneme-grapheme work , or word mapping, is a physical way in which to represent the relationship between the phonemes and graphemes. Theses maps allow the student to connect the graphemes (letters) to the phonemes (sounds).
Research shows that helping students connect the two is a crucial step inbuilding a strong phonics foundation.
Making it fun is a BONUS! Who doesn't love a good stamp? In this activity students practice phoneme grapheme mapping by stamping the phoneme (sound) and then writing the corresponding grapheme (letter).
How to Use This Resource:
Print the “tap it write it” sheet that follows the phonics skill you want to practice. Laminate or place in a sheet protector. Place in a station bin with mini erasers, chips or expo markers.
Ask students to say the picture, tap or use chips to mark the sounds, and then write the corresponding letters (word) on the dotted lines.
