Research tells us that letter name knowledge is a huge predictor of future reading success. This means our students don't need to just master letters, but they need to reach automaticity. Students need multiple exposures when it comes to phonics instruction. Which is why this literacy station is the perfect way to help your students master their skills.
This activity allows students to practice listening for the beginning sounds in the letters they are learning. Students practice circling or coloring the pictures that represent the sound they are focusing on and then write the letters below.
Included are 26 letter sound search sheets.

Handwriting is often overlooked in the literacy world. BUT students need lots and lots of practice when it comes to handwriting. Louisa Moats emphasizes the importance of handwriting as part of the overall literacy process, especially in the early stages of learning to read and write. She recognizes that handwriting plays a crucial role in developing fine motor skills and in reinforcing letter formation and recognition, which are foundational skills for reading and writing.
These handwriting practice sheets make it fun and engaging for all students. They are a great resources to send home for parents!

Letter sound fluency is crucial for our students. Students need lots and lots of practice when it comes to letter recognition and sounds. It's not enough to teach it once and forget about it.
Research shows that one of the best predictors of reading achievement from early kindergarten to second grade is letter name knowledge. This is why letter recognition and letter sound intervention and prevention are key.
So how do we support our students? Through lots and lots of practice and lots of CUMULATIVE REVIEW.
These letter sound fluency grids are PERFECT for both. Each skill builds during the week. Each day you introduce a new sound, and practice the previously taught sounds.
We also know that letter sounds and phonemic awareness should be tightly aligned. That’s why this bundle also includes an cumulative review approach to SUCCESSIVE BLENDING and CVC DECODING.
Included are over 110 pages of-
individual letter practice (both continuous and stop sounds)
successive blending mats
words in isolation cards

Word building is a powerful activity that helps students to sequence sounds in words. Students are asked to create words in s specified sequence, changing one sound at a time. You can do this two different ways:
Ask the student to spell the word cat. Students can use letter tiles or magnetic letters to spell the word. The teacher then guides them through the process. Change the letter c to the letter s. Then asks: What's the new word? The student then pushes one letter at a time as they sound out the word s-a-t and blends it back together sat. This activity supports students in blending/decoding.
Ask the students to build the word cat, then ask them to change one sound to make the new word sat. In this activity, students have to map the sounds in their heads to try to figure out which letter to swap out.
Word building helps to support students in recognizing and decoding patterns in words. The important thing to remember is to only change one sound/letter at a time.
This bundle includes:
CVC
Ending CK
Floss
Digraphs

WHY WE LOVE IT
Build Fluency with Blending Lines!
Students need repeated, meaningful practice to move from sounding out each word to reading with confidence and ease. These blending lines are designed to do just that—help students build fluency by focusing on consistent vowel patterns with increasing complexity.
Each set includes three levels per vowel, giving students the opportunity to build automaticity over time. The vowel has been excluded from the blending lines to promote vowel flexibility and decoding
HOW TO USE
You may choose to laminate each page for future use or simply print one sheet out per student.
Read through the blending lines once choral reading. Show students how to track from left to right sounding out the words as they go.
Then, ask students to practice reading several times independently or with a partner. Students can color one star for each time they read the sheet all the way through.

That's why we love, 5 Tally Fluency! Students will work on fluency by reading and re-reading sentences with a partner and race to the finish to win! What we love about this game is that it has students reading and re-reading sentences (which we know leads to good fluency), but in a fun way that isn’t mundane or feels redundant. This game can be done in partners and as an independent literacy center. If desired, it can also be done independently.

Everyone loves a good decodable! Students and teachers alike. These decodables come for all phonics skills, so you can be sure it’s meeting the needs of each of your students.
One of the best aspects about these decodables is that they come with goals for the week. Students can read through these decodables and then check off the day of the week they read them. As they move on through the week, students will become more confident and more fluent as they go along.
Additionally, students can take their time and go at their own pace since the decodables themselves are divided up into three parts. You can choose to have the students read just one part a day and gradually move onto all three parts, or start them off with all three right away.
